What dealer-grade diagnostics means

Five tooling commitments — every visit, every module.

Dealer-grade diagnostics is what the Autel Ultra full-system read, the marque-specific OEM toolchain, and the diagnostic bay's read/write licence buy you on a luxury car. Each item below is verifiable when the car is on the lift, and on the photographed report handed back at the end.

ISTA · BMW
BMW ISTA module-level access

Why dealer-grade for the luxury marque

Six marques. Six OEM toolchains.

A diagnostic that reads what the dealer tool reads is the one a BMW 5 Series, a Mercedes E-Class, an Audi A6, a Porsche 911, a Lexus LS, and a Tesla Model 3 all benefit from — but for different modules, on different buses. The cards below name what each marque-specific toolchain adds on the chassis, the modules it covers, and the read/write licence we hold for it.

BMW
ISTA — DME / EGS / ACSM / ECUs

F / G / U-series — DME, 8HP / 7-DCT, ACSM, IHKA, IHKA2, INF, TCB, EPS, AL/FRM. Add ISTA+ for SCN coding, variant configuration after a part swap, and battery registration on 12V AGM / lithium.

Mercedes-Benz
XENTRY / DAS — ME / EZS / chassis

W/V/R — ME-SFI, ME-NET, EZS / EIS, 7G / 9G-Tronic, ESP/SBC, AIRMATIC / ABC, ADAS camera / radar calibration, AMG-specific drive-program data.

Audi
ODIS — MED / BEM / ADAS

MLB / MQB / PPE — MED 17 / 19, BEM parameterized coding, gateway, ADAS front camera, side assist, night vision, plus virtual SVM pass-through for online protected functions.

Porsche
PIWIS III — DME / PSM / PASM

MOB / MQB / Hybrid — DME, PSM, PASM damper adaptation, air-spring, gateway, e-Hybrid HV battery registration, plus variant configuration after a retrofit (sport chrono, PSE, etc.).

Lexus
Techstream — ECM / HV / sonar

GA-L / GA-K — ECM, ABS / VSC, SRS / airbag, HV battery state-of-health + cell balancing, clearance sonar, parking assist, plus AVS damper adaptation on F-SPORT trims.

Tesla
Toolbox 3 — pack / firmware / drive unit

Model S / X / 3 / Y — HV pack state-of-health + isolation test, drive-unit / inverter diagnostics, firmware-level DTC read, MCU / AP firmware, plus gateway configuration on recent body controller swaps.

The photographed translated report

Every DTC paired with a plain-language explanation.

The translated report is the certificate of completion. Tablet-screen photographs are attached so every line-item is auditable against the tablet. We do not clear codes without explaining them, and we never quote a repair without a diagnostic that identified the root cause.

Report line-items

Four urgency tiers, written up the same on every report.

  • 01
URGENTDrive-system fault requiring immediate repair. Tablet-screen photo and OEM service-info reference attached. Written recommendation to schedule the work before the next road-trip kilometre.
  • 02
ADDRESS SOONStored fault that has crossed the OEM threshold but isn't drivetrain-safety. Tablet-screen photo, OEM service-info reference, recommended repair window. Quoted separately as a written estimate.
  • 03
WATCHIntermittent or pending fault with no active drive impact. Tablet-screen photo, OEM TSB reference, and the trigger condition we are watching. Re-scanned on the next service visit.
  • 04
NOISE / RESOLVEDCustomer-reported concern that returned no DTC. Documented, photographed, and either traced to a noise / comfort complaint (not an electronic fault) or confirmed as cleared after a repair event.

The four-step process

Pre-scan · scan · post-scan · written report.

Every diagnostic visit runs through the same four steps — pre-scan to baseline, the OEM-tooling read, post-scan to verify, and the photographed written report. The typical visit time is about 90 minutes — long enough for a full-network read and the right OEM toolchain, short enough to keep the day's schedule open.

≈ 90 minutes on the lift
  1. Step 01

    Pre-scan.

Full-network DTC read on every module reachable from the OBD-II port — body, suspension, HVAC, ADAS, camera, comfort, not just the engine. Topology mapped against the CAN / CAN FD / FlexRay / automotive Ethernet buses.

  2. Step 02

    OEM-tooling read.

The marque-specific OEM toolchain (ISTA, XENTRY, ODIS, PIWIS, Techstream, Toolbox 3) reaches the modules the generic OBD-II path censors — live data, coding, adaptation, variant configuration. Freeze-frame captured where stored.

  3. Step 03

    Post-scan.

After any repair, coding, or adaptation event — a full-network re-scan confirms the original DTC is resolved, no new fault is introduced, and all learned values are within OEM spec. Battery, injector, and transmission adaptations run as part of the post-scan, not billed separately.

  4. Step 04

    Photographed translated report.

Every DTC paired with a plain-language explanation, an OEM service-info reference, and a URGENT / ADDRESS SOON / WATCH / NOISE urgency tag. Tablet-screen photos attached. The report goes home with you — never a vague recommendation.

Two-shop coverage

Diagnostics at both GTA bays.

Both MFP bays run the same Autel Ultra full-system tablet, the same six marque-specific OEM toolchains, and the same 310S-licensed execution. Choose the bay nearest the car's home — the corridor you drive matters most when the visit is done.

York Region · Yonge Street corridor

Richmond Hill bay

9190 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill. Diagnostics bench alongside the alignment bay and four-lift service floor. Same ISTA / XENTRY / ODIS / PIWIS / Techstream / Toolbox 3 licensing as the dealer group.

Halton Region · QEW corridor

Burlington bay

1161 Pettit Road, Burlington. Two minutes off the QEW at Burlington / Bronte Road — same Autel Ultra tablet, same OEM toolchains, same 310S-licensed execution as the Yonge Street bay.

Four off-ramps from this page: back to the four-pillar services overview, open the quote form prefilled to Diagnostic, follow the alignment deep-dive for the pre / post scan loop that closes a diagnostic report, or read the OEM-repair deep-dive for the written-estimate side of the bay.

Services overview
See all four MFP pillars.

Diagnostics, alignment, OEM mechanical repair, and seasonal storage — executed under the same four-step protocol at both Richmond Hill and Burlington bays.

Quote form
Request a quote — Diagnostic.

The quote form prefills to Diagnostic so the front desk knows what you're asking about before any reply. Add chassis, fitment, and any DTC flag you've already seen.

Alignment deep-dive
Alignment — the pre / post scan loop.

A complaint that surfaces as an alignment symptom is often rooted in a module-level fault, and vice-versa. The alignment deep-dive walks the before / after scan loop that closes the diagnostic report.

OEM-repair deep-dive
Written estimate after the diagnostic.

When the report flags a repair, the OEM-repair deep-dive walks the written-estimate side of the bay — OEM parts only, 310S-licensed execution, and the same photographed report you took home from the diagnostic.

Other MFP pillars

What runs alongside diagnostics.

Three other MFP pillars — alignment, OEM mechanical repair, and seasonal collector storage — keep the rest of the chassis ready for the day the diagnostic report's watch-items escalate.

Book service

Book a dealer-grade diagnostic at either GTA bay.

Submit the request, and the front desk reviews it, confirms eligibility, then writes back with a written estimate and available appointment options before any work is authorized. Tell us about any DTC flag you've already seen, the symptom window, and how the car is driven — the front desk routes the visit with the right capacity.
